According to him, which is confirmed by the published video, there is an influx of merchants from the surrounding villages in the city, who set up spontaneous markets on the streets. You can also see a large number of children there.

“But the problem is money. A second point of “cashing out” the hryvnia near the Metro has appeared. The exchange rate is 1.8, but in Donetsk it is 2.2. Looters under the “roof” of the self-mayor Konstantin Ivashchenko are robbing Mariupol residents even here,” the official writes.

He recalled that about 150-170 thousand inhabitants still remain in the city.

The occupation of Mariupol – what is known

Russian troops surrounded Mariupol in the early days of a large-scale invasion of Ukraine.

On March 16, a Russian aircraft dropped a bomb on the building of the Drama Theater in Mariupol, where hundreds of civilians were hiding. Debris blocked the entrance to the bomb shelter. About 300 people died under the rubble.

On May 1, the evacuation of civilians began, who were hiding in a bomb shelter at Azovstal.

On May 3, Russian invaders began to storm the plant. The enemy used armored vehicles and tanks, tried to land troops using boats and attracted a huge amount of infantry.

On May 8, at a briefing from the territory of the Azovstal plant, Ilya Samoylenko, an intelligence officer of the Azov Regiment, said that the soldiers were not receiving any help and were left face to face with the enemy. He also added that the fighters did not intend to surrender and would fight to the last.

At the same time, the Russian invaders are trying to hide the real number of dead in Mariupol. Petr Andryushchenko, an adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, said that “packages with the bodies of the dead continue to be taken out by tractor carriages.”
