Shortly after the official “Uncharted” trailer was released, Sony submitted a behind-the-scenes interview. In addition, IGN has uploaded a comparison video in which the airplane scene was compared to its original.
The first trailer for the “Uncharted” film was presented to the public yesterday. Here we watch young Nathan Drake embark on his first adventurous journey. He gets active support from his mentor Sully.
On the same day Sony released a behind-the-scenes video in which the leading actors Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg talk about the film project. At the beginning, Holland asks his colleague what the word “Uncharted” actually means.
The prominent actor replies: “It means something completely new that has never been seen on a card”.
Unexplored locations and more
Holland adds that this is exactly what the story is about. Both the plot, the action and the locations are unexplored. The characters are, of course, because they are based on a popular video game franchise.
Then the young actor describes the personality of his film role. Nathan Drake is resourceful and funny. He is also good at puzzles and lives for adventure. He describes him as “the greatest treasure hunter of all time”. Victor “Sully” Sullivan is humorously described by Wahlberg as a wise and clearly better-looking mentor. At least when it comes to age, Holland agrees.
In any case, the two of them visit incredible places around the world to find ancient treasures. Wahlberg speaks of a “huge global adventure”.
In another video, IGN compares the recreated airplane scene with the original. Funnily enough, many viewers consider the physics and the staging of “Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception” to be better than in the film.
“Uncharted” will hit theaters on February 18, 2022.
