Munich – Robert Lewandowski made it extremely exciting. It was only at the last minute that the world footballer of FC Bayern wrested another Bundesliga record in a 4-0 win against VfL Wolfsburg from former Munich striker legend Gerd Müller.

The 33-year-old Lewandowski scored his 43rd league goal in the 87th minute of the game in 2021 – one more than the recently deceased Müller in the 1972 calendar year.

“That makes me very happy. I’m very proud, ”said the exceptional Polish striker about his next record. With 41 goals Lewandowski had only surpassed Müller’s record of 40 goals in a Bundesliga season last May. “It wasn’t an easy game for me personally,” said Lewandowski after the last league game in 2021: “There were no free spaces, Wolfsburg played very defensively.”

The Bayern striker rarely came to a conclusion. He left two options unused. But then he met Jamal Musiala just before the end. “This year was just one step higher for me,” said Lewandowski happily and happily. «I was extremely happy. The goal was very nice too. Lewy played a very good game, ”commented coach Julian Nagelsmann.
