[사회]1,500 new confirmed cases are expected today… Market anxiety ahead of Chuseok

[앵커]

While the number of new COVID-19 cases has been in the four digits for over two months, it is expected to record 1,500 today.

In particular, there is concern that the scale of infection will not increase as new cases emerge one after another in markets where people are expected to gather ahead of Chuseok.

From 00:00 to 9pm yesterday, Saturday, there were 1,475 new confirmed cases of COVID-19.

There were 269 fewer people than the same time count the day before.

As of 00:00 today, the number of new confirmed cases is expected to be around 1,500.

Although it decreased due to the weekend effect, the number of confirmed cases per day is four digits for the 61st day.

But the Fourth Pandemic is still not at its peak.

According to the anticipation of the quarantine authorities, it is highly likely to peak in the middle of the month when the Chuseok holiday is in place.

In particular, I am concerned that new infections are following one after another in markets and logistics centers ahead of Chuseok.

The number of confirmed cases continues to increase around the Dongdaemun-gu market in Seoul, and about 30 people have already been infected.

At the Noryangjin Fish Market in Seoul, where the group infection occurred earlier, close to 100 people have been confirmed so far.

There was also a case of a new cluster outbreak related to the logistics center in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do.

As the Chuseok holiday, which accompanies large-scale population movement, is approaching in two weeks, the number of confirmed cases is uneasy at any time.
