In the midst of the development of immersive content technology in the Corona situation, an online real-time performance was held for the first time in Korea with a virtual stage as the background.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency held a real-time extended reality online performance yesterday evening with Psy and The Boyz appearing on a virtual stage with the present Gwanghwamun and the future as the background.
In this performance, which was called ‘Gwanghwa Pungryu’, Psy gave the online audience a “jump” and communicated in real time, decorating the end of the performance.
The Korea Creative Content Agency explained that this performance is the first real-time online performance in extended reality in Korea that connects people in a space that is separated from virtual reality and reality based on Unreal Engine.
At the same time, a collaborative stage was implemented by connecting famous tourist destinations such as Seoul and Gyeongju with 5G mobile communication technology.
Starting with this performance, the government is promoting the Gwanghwa Era project, which presents large-scale realistic content in the Gwanghwamun area, a symbol of our history.
