Davis points to other IFCN signatories like StopFake, a leading group of fact-checkers at a Kiev university

Lanny J. Davis, American lawyer for the Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash, called on the publisher of the Kyiv Post , Brian Bonner, on signing the paper, “Verified Signatory” of the “Code of Principles” one of the world’s most respected fact-checking journalistic organizations – the International Fact Checking Network (“IFCN”).

Davis pointed out that big news organizations like the Washington Post, USA Today, the Pulitzer Prize-winning PolitiFact the Tampa Bay Times and other news organizations and websites from the US and virtually all European countries, including Ukraine, have already signed up. The full list of more than 150 IFCN-approved signatories around the world can be found here.

With her signature, the Kyiv Post StopFake.org join, a current IFCN signatory in Ukraine and one of the world’s most respected fact-checking journalistic groups. StopFake is part of the Center for Media Reforms at the Kiev School of Journalism (University of Kiev-Mohula) and confirms on its website that it is a verified signatory of the IFCN Code of Principles website. StopFake explains, “Integrity is important to us. So when we post a mistake, we admit it and correct it as soon as possible, both online and on social media.”

The IFCN advised Attorney Davis that the Kyiv Post is not a verified signatory, and so Davis demands that Kyiv Post Now on to commit to the IFCN Code to correct the records and verify facts as many leading journalistic organizations and websites in the US, Europe and around the world have done.

Davis promised that Kyiv Post continue to urge yourself StopFake and many others and sign the IFCN Code of Principles.
